I love to show people they can move with ease and even ease their pain. My passion is to share the teachings and to get people moving (and laughing!). I never thought I would be teaching movement.  I love to show people they can move with ease and even ease their pain. My passion is to share the teachings and to get people moving (and laughing!). I never thought I would be teaching movement. If you had told me I would be teaching Qigong and Tai Chi for a living, I would have laughed and laughed. I used to think I had "two left feet" and zero body intelligence. But 20 years in now, I find that sharing movement and meditation with others is all about joy.  So, I can show you how meditative movement arts, Tai Chi and Qigong, can help you be more resilient in the face of life's challenges.

I hold as most important that each person is unique and has their own path that is always to be respected. Training in anything is about changing your life. It can be painful, and it can be fun and rewarding. The journey is always interesting.  I trained and got certified in classical Tai Chi with the American Chen Taiji Society and love

It can be painful, and it can be fun and rewarding. The journey is always interesting.  I trained and got certified in classical Tai Chi with the American Chen Taiji Society and love my teacher! I also trained with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi, Lee Holden Qigong, Robert Peng Qigong, Acupressure with Michael Reed Gach, and Fuzhong Li's Tai Chi for Better Balance. I have a certifications in energetic bodywork and yoga, so I know anatomy and energy, but most important thing I have to offer is a love of teaching and learning. Sometimes these arts can seem exclusive, but they are really available to anyone in our modern age. This is a great treasure.

I have a degree in cognitive science, and I find I use my training continuously in my teaching in that I understand the learning process and how it changes your nervous system, your brain, every step of the way. I have a degree in cognitive science, and I find I use my training continuously in my teaching in that I understand the learning process and how it changes your nervous system, your brain, every step of the way. The brain cell or neuron is a lot like a tree branch. The branches represent the connections to other neurons and brain and body structures. It's all connected, which goes with the saying in Tai Chi arts about everything being connected: "You can't change one thing without changing everything." I honor the connections and the integration of the structures, and true learning leads to integration. It is what allows us to be completely ourselves (mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually), and this is actually very healthy. It is a joy to see others learn. My years of experience working at Functional Restoration Pain Centers involved bringing Tai Chi and Qigong to people in chronic pain situations. Yes! Tai Chi and Qigong have led to some promising outcomes in pain and pain management research, and I have witnessed it firsthand. I have worked with pain scientists and Tai Chi and Qigong researchers, and have been invited to speak at conferences on the topic of "Tai Chi and Qigong for Chronic Pain" from the movement teacher's perspective, because it is my passion!
